CANCELED: The D&H Canal: 19th c Engine of Prosperity

The building of the Delaware & Hudson Canal and its impact on the region will be the subject of a presentation by Bill Merchant of the D&H Canal Historical Society.

In our present era, it’s hard to imagine that in the early 1820s it was easier to dig a canal for mule-drawn barges than to build a serviceable road to get products to market. This program highlights the challenges of  early transportation and of the people who were involved in its construction.
