Heart of a Lion: a Lone Cat’s Walk Across America

Presented by Chris Spatz, President Cougar Rewilding Foundation. His foundation figures prominently in Will Stolzenburg’s Heart of a Lion.

Follow the cross-country odyssey of a three-year-old mountain lion, one of the last of a dying breed, in this wonderful and bittersweet presentation combining scientific fact and mystery. It was the farthest land-bound trek ever recorded for a wild animal in North America. His DNA trail allowed the author to trace a two-year journey, coming home to a society deeply divided over his return. A story about the resilience of nature, changing habitat and human reflection.
